Friendly Suggestions for MB Staff

Hi. I'm a customer, and I can think. Those are my only qualifications.

Arthur T DeMoulas deserves your support, and he has mine. He enlarged Market Basket during a government-caused recession. He inspired your loyalty - and how! He inspired mine, by arranging competitive prices with friendly service and good products. And at the same time he sustained good profits, of 5%. All that is amazing.

So yes, campaign for his reinstatement, and that of those who have been fired for speaking in his support. MB wasn't broken, and didn't need fixing. But please beware of two factors:

First, do not encourage politicians to "help." They are dangerous parasites. If they can tell people to boycott MB stores today, they can legislate a boycott tomorrow. And if they can interfere with such trade tomorrow, they can monopolize it the day after. That is called "communism", and 70 years of Soviet misery prove conclusively it doesn't work. And by the way, it was a government judge who gave control of MB to Arthur S's side of the family in the first place. Trust them no more than you would a poisonous snake.

Second, recognize that without Rafaele Evans' support, even the reinstatement of Arthur T will not reinstate the policies he was following. He could be outvoted any time. Therefore, as top priority, you need to obtain the ongoing support of another family member; perhaps by persuading Ms Evans to change sides again.
