How Anyone Can Stop Paying Income Taxes is Mr Schiff's first book on the subject, and while its techniques are largely superseded it gives a valuable insight on how it was perceived in those pioneer days. The principles of Law are, of course, unchanged and sound.
The Biggest Con: How the Government is Fleecing You was written in 1976 and was widely acclaimed. This work extends far beyond the income "tax" itself, by giving a devastating account of the damage government does with the money it helps them collect. One page alone justifies the modest cost of this book: the chart of wholesale prices, 1815 thru 1975. An absolutely devastating indictment of government "money" and an eloquent case for gold to replace it.
The Federal Mafia provides the minimum about i-tax history that any Zedhead should possess.
The best publication anywhere on the history of Congress' attempts to tax the earnings of Americans, and the legal reasons for its repeated failure, is in "The Great Income Tax Hoax".
Anyone intending to live free of the i-tax should have a copy, and read it and keep it for repeated reference. Irwin Schiff does a magnificent, scholarly job of unravelling what is otherwise a complex story - one that is not understood even by most tax attorneys.
Another indispensible item for the serious student is the Internal Revenue Code. Although Mr Schiff doesn't publish this, he is its Nation's largest retailer; and he does color-code the volume most usefully with tags to key pages and Sections.
Audiotape Series 6 Tape 2 compares in detail the 1939 Edition of the Code with the 1954 and later Editions - and shows the enormous significance of the seemingly minor changes including the dropping from the old Section 11 of the phrase saying i-tax "must be paid"!
