"On the Other Hand..." is the name of a commentary, written every week starting shortly after the Waco outrage in 1993. Out of over 300 Editions, most of which appeared in newspapers including New Hampshire's "Your Hometown Messenger", the author has selected over 130 for presentation on this Web site, grouped under a couple of dozen subject categories. This collection therefore forms one person's view of the "Freedom Philosophy", illustrated by current events in one of the fastest-moving decades of the 20th Century.
In the Spring of 1999 he stopped writing them weekly, but adds to them from time to time; so those interested in recovering control of their own lives from government may like to bookmark this site for multiple visits at their leisure. Those interested can also read an author's bio.
In 2004 Jim started being published on the web site Strike the Root, so most of his fresh articles now appear there. On this index those items are colored green or (if classed "Recommended") fuschia or (if "MUST READ") red. Those published elsewhere are colored purple. In 2010 Jim began The Zero Government Blog to comment frequently on current events.
The Edition # of each essay on this site here indicates the year in which it was written:
|#1 thru 31 first appeared in 1993|
|#32 thru 82 in 1994||#83 thru 134 in 1995|
|#135 thru 186 in 1996||#187 thru 237 in 1997|
|#238 thru 290 in 1998||#291 upwards in 1999 or later|

Please note: the Freefind search of "On the Other Hand..." is powerful and fast, but does not reach the articles published on Strike the Root, ie those below with titles not in blue. STR has its own Google search facility, as well as an archive of STR articles that I wrote.
